Taverity Outreach Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the Taverity Outreach Chrome extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, stores, and shares your information. It applies specifically to the browser extension and supplements Taverity's general Privacy Policy. The Extension lets you preview and send personalized SMS messages to contacts from a Google Sheet you have open, through your Taverity account. It is operated by Taverity, Inc., 134 S. Main Street, Alpine, UT, 84004.

What the Extension Collects and Processes

The Extension processes only the data needed to preview and send your messages. It collects and processes the following:

Contact data from your open Google Sheet. When you click "Load Sheet Data," the Extension reads the contents of the Google Sheet you currently have open — including phone numbers, first names, last names, and any other columns present. This is done via Google's standard CSV export using your existing Google login session. This contact data is held in your browser's memory only and is never written to disk by the Extension.

Settings you enter. Your Taverity API endpoint URL, your Taverity API key, your "From" email address, and an optional Google Gemini API key.

A Google OAuth token. Requested with a single, narrowly scoped permission — https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata — which grants access only to a hidden application-data folder the Extension creates in your own Google Drive. This scope cannot read any other files in your Drive.

Optional AI drafting input. If you use the "Generate" feature, the short context text you type plus a tone selection are processed to draft a message. No contact data is sent to AI — the draft uses a literal {first_name} placeholder that is filled in locally on your device at send time.

How Your Data Is Used

Your data is used solely to preview and send personalized SMS messages to the contacts in your Sheet through Taverity. Specifically:

  • There is no advertising, profiling, or unrelated use of your data.
  • We do not sell or rent your data.
  • The Extension performs no analytics, tracking, or remote logging.

How and Where Data Is Stored

Settings are stored in a file (taverity-settings.json) in the hidden appDataFolder of your own Google Drive, plus a temporary in-memory session cache (chrome.storage.session) that is cleared when the browser closes.

The Google OAuth token is cached by Chrome on your own device.

Contact data resides in your browser's memory only during the session and is not persisted by the Extension.

The developer operates no separate database of your contacts or settings.

Who Your Data Is Shared With

The Extension shares data only with the following parties, and only as described below. There are no other third parties — no data brokers, advertisers, or analytics providers.

1. Google LLC. Google Sheets/Docs (to read the sheet you have open), the Google Drive API (to store your settings file), and Google Identity (for sign-in). See Google's Privacy Policy.

2. Google Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com). Used only if you use the optional AI drafting feature, sent with your own Gemini API key. This contains no contact data. See the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

3. Taverity (portal.taverity.com, or a Taverity endpoint you configure). When you click Send, the Extension transmits, per message: the recipient's phone number, the message text, your "From" email, the recipient's first and last name, a template/label name, and the scheduled date — solely to deliver the SMS. Permissions the Extension Requests

The Extension requests only the permissions it needs to function:

  • identity — to sign you in with Google and obtain the narrowly scoped Drive app-data OAuth token.
  • storage — to keep your settings and a temporary in-memory session cache.
  • activeTab and tabs — to identify the Google Sheet you currently have open so it can be loaded on request.
  • scripting — to read the open sheet's contents when you click "Load Sheet Data."
  • sidePanel — to display the Extension's interface alongside your sheet.
  • Host permissions for docs.google.com and portal.taverity.com — to read your open Google Sheet and to send messages through Taverity.

Data Retention and Deletion

  • Contact data is not retained — it exists only in browser memory during your session and is gone when the session ends.
  • Settings are deletable using the Extension's Delete button, which removes the taverity-settings.json file from your Google Drive.
  • Google access is revocable at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions or by using Sign out in the Extension.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for and is not directed to anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes.
